چکیده

We study the problem of inter cell interference coordination (ICIC) with fixed transmit power in OFDMA-based cellular networks, which each base station (BS) needs to decide as subchannel, if any, allocate its associated mobile stations (MS) for data transmission. In general, there exists a trade-off between total throughput (sum throughputs all MSs) and fairness under allocations found by resource allocation schemes. introduce concept $$\tau -\alpha -$$ modifying $$\alpha fairness, was earlier proposed context congestion control packet-switched networks. The allows us achieve arbitrary trade-offs selecting an appropriate value $$\alpha$$ $$[0,\infty )$$ . show that every \in [0,\infty > 0$$ , finding fair is NP-Complete. Further, we [0, \infty exist thresholds such potential levels experienced MS on subchannel are above threshold values, then can be optimally solved polynomial time reducing it bipartite graph matching problem. Also, propose simple, distributed algorithm ICIC problem, flexible, requires small amount operate, information exchange among only neighboring BSs. investigate via simulations how parameters should selected so any desired fairness. Finally, compare performance those simulated annealing based opportunistic algorithms terms throughput, index computational complexity.

Throughput/Fairness Trade offs for the iSLIP Scheduling Algorithm

High throughput and fairness consist two desirable properties when scheduling traffic in an Input-Queued crossbar switch. Unfortunately, these two goals are conflicting which makes the job of most scheduling algorithms that want to achieve both hard. Here, we investigate the trade offs between throughput and fairness for iSLIP, one of the most well-studied algorithms introduced in [4]. We study...

Arbitrary hardware software trade-offs

This paper discusses a novel transformation based design methodology and its use in the design of complex programmable VLSI systems. During the life cycle of a complex system the optimal trade-off between, partially, implementing in hardware or software is changing. This is due to varying system requirements (short time-to-market, low-cost, low-power etc.) and improving device technology. The p...

Inter-Cell Interference Coordination for LTE-A

Multi-layer heterogeneous network layout including small cell base stations are considered to be the key to further enhancements of the spectral efficiency achieved in mobile communication networks. It has been recognized that inter-cell interference has become the limiting factor when trying to achieve not only high average user satisfaction, but a high degree of satisfaction for as many users...

Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (ICIC) Technology

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a promising standard for next-generation cellular systems targeted to have a peak downlink bit rate of 150 Mb/s. However, as adjacent cells use the same frequency, interference between adjacent cells may degrade the bit rate at cell edges, preventing sufficient throughput from being obtained. Inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) is a promising technology for ...
